I have never been the jealous type....until now....but I've got to tell you that it pains me that as "Gram", I'm not the long distance center of Calvin or Warren's universe. I mean...I am the "Gram" after all. That should account for something...right? Well apparently not, as far as Warren is concerned! Calvin, who resides in Texas....a casualty of poor planning on the Army's part I might add, is off the hook for now, although I know the time will come when "Gram" plays second fiddle for him too! At 2 years of age, Calvin is in "Big Brother" training (and no....he's not going on CBS anytime soon)....but big brother training as in "great....someone to finally listen to my words of wisdom and acknowledge my skills as a Houdini" training. A side note to Blake and Kristina regarding Calvin's skill set.........good luck with that....but I digress. The grandson currently in deep Gram gruel is Warren. Granted, he is only 17 months old, and surely he can't have done anything too bad that would land him in a jumbo soup bowl, but land he did! I would say that the apple didn't fall far from the tree, but his father, our youngest son George, was actually slow, comparatively. Slow as in he didn't get his first girlfriend until he was 3. Warren, however, has discovered the love of his life right across the street and her name is Aurora. Granted she is the same age, adorable, and his height, but her name is far more challenging to say than "Gram" is....yet Warren has determined that "Rora" rates verbalization before "Gram" does. What is wrong with this child? I actually blame his parents, George and Jenna, for this dreadful oversight in his educational process. Obviously, now that George is in the Coast Guard, I can put the blame on his brain being waterlogged....or just the fact that he's George.....but Jenna.....with all of her brain cells still intact should have never let this happen! The indignity of it all! Well when we go to visit, Warren and Gram are going to have to have a little chat. Aurora can be the center of his universe in 18 years or so....but for now....he better not get the first syllable to her name correct before he gets "Gram" learned! I mean, really!...What's a "Gram" supposed to do?
